1. Eligibility & Age Restriction

  • Black and White is strictly intended for users aged 18 years and above.
  • By registering, you confirm that you are legally eligible to use dating services under Indian law.
  • We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under the age of 18.
  • Accounts found violating the age requirement will be immediately suspended or terminated.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Personal Information

  • Mobile number (for OTP-based authentication)
  • Name, gender, date of birth
  • Profile photos and basic profile details
  • Device information (OS version, device ID, app version)
  • IP address and approximate location (country/state level only)

2.2 Biometric & Facial Verification Data

  • During onboarding, facial feature detection is used to verify that the user is a real human and to prevent fake or scam accounts.
  • Facial verification data is used only for identity verification purposes and is not shared, sold, or used for advertising.

2.3 Location Information & Usage

2.3.1 Location Access & Consent

Black and White collects precise and approximate location data when the app is in use and only after the user grants explicit permission through the device’s permission system. We do not access location data in the background.

2.3.2 Purpose of Location Usage
  • To display nearby nearby user profiles
  • Enabling location-based matching features
  • To enhance user experience by connecting users in close proximity

Location data is never used for tracking, surveillance, or advertising purposes.

2.3.3 Type of Location Data Collected
  • Approximate location (city / area level)
  • Precise location (GPS-level accuracy) while the app is in use

Location is never collected when the app is closed or not in use.

2.3.4 User Control & Preferences
  • Location access is optional and fully controlled by the user.
  • Enable or disable location access at any time from device settings
  • Change location visibility preferences inside the App
  • Disabling location access may limit certain features such as nearby match discovery.
2.3.5 Location Data Sharing & Storage
  • Exact location coordinates are never shown to other users.
  • Only approximate distance (e.g., “within 5 km”) may be displayed.
  • Location data is not sold or shared with advertisers.

3. Authentication & Account Security

  • Single sign-in with OTP-based login using your registered mobile number.
  • OTPs are time-bound and encrypted.
  • Users are responsible for keeping their device and login credentials secure.

4. One-to-One Communication & Encryption

  • All one-to-one chats, audio calls, video calls, and media exchanges are protected using end-to-end encryption.
  • We do not read, monitor, or store private communications except where required by law.
  • Messages and media are accessible only to the intended participants.

5. Media Sharing & Content Privacy

  • Explicit or obscene multimedia sharing to public areas is strictly prohibited.
  • Unauthorized redistribution of private media is prevented.
  • One-time view media automatically expires after viewing.
  • Screenshot and screen recording are disabled in chat sections.

6. Screenshot & Screen Recording Protection

Screenshot capture and screen recording are disabled in sensitive areas. Any attempt to bypass these protections may result in immediate account action.

7. Use of Information

  • Provide and maintain app functionality
  • Verify user identity and prevent scams
  • Improve safety and matchmaking quality
  • Provide customer support
  • Comply with legal obligations

8. Data Storage & Retention

User data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and retained only as long as necessary to provide services and meet legal requirements.
